About me
Dr. Meek is proud to be part of the Huskie team as an Assistant Principal at Othello High School where he primarily focuses his work in the areas of instructional leadership, counseling, and student activities. His experience in student leadership started over 30 years ago when he was elected as a student officer of his 6th grade class. Since that time he was a class officer, ASB officer, and a student senator at Washington State University. As a teacher and leader he was an ASB/Leadership teacher, worked at Cispus Leadership Camps, taught classes in ASB Law and Finance throughout Washington, and served as a WACA Board Member as the secretary. Meek was also the president of the Washington State Activity Coordinators Association in 2007 “The Jackpot of Ideas”
Outside of his work in Othello Dr. Meek is the lead consultant for Real World Schools projects across Washington. He was the visionary for implementing Moses Lake’s Vanguard Academy, the state’s first fully integrated cross disciplinary, project-based, and competency assessed high school serving 900 students. Through 2021 Dr. Meek was the Superintendent of Moses Lake where he served over 8,600 students in 15 different schools, including CBTECH which serves 11 partner school districts from across the Columbia Basin. The Moses Lake School District is the second largest employer in Grant County employing over 1,100 employees. Dr. Meek was also the Assistant Superintendent of the Moses Lake School District (2015-2017), Principal of Moses Lake High School (2009-2015), Assistant Principal of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (2004-2009) of Moses Lake High School and a teacher in the Puyallup School District. Dr. Meek holds a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Washington State University, Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Puget Sound, and Bachelor of Arts in English from Washington State University. Dr. Meek and his wife Courtney have three school age boys that all attend school in the Moses Lake School District.
