Session Description: Schools are increasingly expected to identify student needs early, yet many districts lack coherent systems to ensure universal screening leads to action. This session will focus on how Educational Service Districts support districts in building early identification systems within Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Integrated Student Supports (ISS) frameworks. Participants will explore foundational conditions needed before screening, including team structures, system alignment, and readiness for data use. The session will also address effective screening implementation and the development of clear data protocols that translate results into actionable information. Emphasis will be placed on using screening data to guide timely, tiered supports and prevent escalation of student needs.
